Academic Council

The College Academic Council

The Academic Council will be solely responsible for all academic matters, such as framing academic policy, approval of courses, regulations, syllabi, etc. The Council will involve faculty at all levels and experts from outside, including university and government representatives. The decisions taken by the Academic Council will not be subject to any further ratification by the Academic Council or other statutory bodies of the university.

Term: The term of the nominated members shall be three years.

Meetings: Academic Council shall meet at least twice a year.

Functions:

  • The College Academic Council thoroughly discusses the syllabus and solicits input from the concerned department and faculty.
  • The College Academic Council is critical in gathering all curriculum-related analysis, criticism, views, suggestions, feedback, and other information from stakeholders and recommending necessary curriculum revisions to the University.
  • The Council plans collaborations with industries and institutions to develop industry-related education that meets the next generation's expectations.
  • The Council advises department heads on developing action plans and faculty members on developing curricular plans in conjunction with plans for research-related activities.
  • The Council encourages the formation of a student council.
  • The Council advises departments to conduct curriculum reviews and choose appropriate add-on or value-added certification courses and other online courses to ensure student s maintain required competencies as technology advances.
  • The Council fosters positive relationships, collaboration, and coordination between faculty and students to foster an extremely healthy relationship.
  • It reviews articles published in peer-reviewed journals or papers presented at national and international seminars and conferences attended by faculty and students.
